Vaccination as a form of primary prevention has got the importance for an individual person as well as for community. Nonvaccinated peoples or incomplete vaccinated people are much more sensitive to infections. Vaccination of adults strengthens immunity, which decreases with increasing age, it also decreases burden of diseases in higher age and specific protection is acquired. At area vaccination an occupational and personal risk plays an important role in vaccination of adults. In term of assurance of area vaccination, specific categories in our population are pregnant women, immunosuppresed people, people with HIV infection and with chronic heart diseases, pulmonary, hepatic, and renal diseases, patients with asplenia, and travellers to endemic regions. Vaccination of adults requires individual approach, re-evaluation of immunity duration, indications for vaccination, as well as creating of optimal vaccine strategy for particular sub-groups in adult population.
