Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease - GORD) manifests with these symptoms: pyrosis, regurgitation of acidous or sour contents into the proximal part of oesophagus up to the throat. If the oesophagus mucosa is injured by the protracted influence of the stomach contents, dysphagy even odynophagy could develop in the more advanced stages. These symptoms and a medicamentous test (antisecretional therapy) are sufficient for the physician to determine the diagnosis of the oesophagous reflux, however, there are cases, when the diagnosis determination of GORD is not easy and ambiguous. For example, pain behind the sternum could be caused by reflux oesophagitidis, but heart and lungs diseases could participate, oesophagus motility defect and other causes of thoralgia respectively.
