Hereditary hemolytic anemias due to the disorder of red cell membrane, hemoglobin structure or enzyme activities affect in our population 3-5% from total incidence of anemias (35 – 40000/year). This group posses serious therapeutic and diagnostic problems.By molecular-genetic analyses the authors defined more accurately structural disorders of hemoglobin and enzyme variants. Briefly bring information about first variants in Slovakia involved into the international registry of congenital hemolytic anemias.On a group of 420 subjects followed in the Institute of hematology and transfusiology in Bratislava the authors outlined their clinical experiences.
