On the basis of survey article NOSOCOMIAL PATHOGENS IN ETIOLOGY OF SEPTIC STATES the aim of our work was analyze identified microbial agents from samples, what was relation to affected organ systems and infectious diseases which subsequently lead to the diagnosed septic states. Coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (2 of 4 strains) and Staphylococcus aureus (2 of 6 strains) acquired resistance to meticillin. Klebsiella pneumoniae a Enterobacter cloacae of 9 strains enterobacteria produced ESBL (extended spectrum beta-lactamases) and were resistant to β-lactam antibiotics. At 5 of 15 patients were identified fungal microorganisms. Purpose was to point out importance of adjustment empirical treatment after susceptibility testing of nosocomial pathogens and determine reasonable therapy in Institute of Microbiology Faculty of Medicine Comenius University and University Hospital at Bratislava.
