Metabolic syndrome conception, or insulin resistance syndrome, or syndrome X has been a nomenclature, diagnosticidentification, etiopathogenetic and therapeutic dilemma for 20 years. Metabolic syndrome is an agglomeration of major risk factors accelerating process of atherothrombogenesis that is the cause of high morbidity, invalidity and mortality for cardiovascular diseases in the population. Early change of life style, eating habits, cessation of smoking and integrated polypharmacotherapy can lead to reduction of these risk factors. Metabolic syndrome is a model of polymorbid patient who is the center of interest of many specialists. Only integration of their work adequate effects in prevention, diagnosis and treatment and research of metabolic syndrome can be achieved. The biggest dilemmas and risks in prevention and treatment of metabolic syndrome phenomenon occurred in expensive mass therapy of obesity by anorectics in the form of serotoninergic valvulopathies and lung hypertension and in HRT or contra conception therapy by sexagens in women.
