The ENERGY programme was performed in collaboration with internal medicine and cardiology outpatient clinics in Slovakia in 2009. The main goal was to obtain and evaluate the daily practice clinical characteristics, laboratory parameters, medical treatment and quality of life data in patients with coronary artery disease and stable angina pectoris and to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of trimetazidine administered in the form of modified release during the 3 month observation period. Frequency of angina, nitrate use, functional class according to the Canadian Cardiology Society and New York Heart Association and quality of life and influence of the treatment with metabolic mode of action antianginal compound trimetazidine in the form of modified release on these parameters were evaluated.
