Paraneoplastic syndrome is defined as a set of symptoms which manifest due to presence of a tumour in the body, but they are related directly neither to its growth nor to creation of metastases. We are describing the case of a 47-year old patient with the myomatous uterus and neoplastic process in the area of adnexa, who has been hospitalised frequently at our department rein a short time interval. In her case, para-neoplastic syndrome manifested clinically by one of the most frequent manifestations ‒ venous thromboembolism, which caused a serious worsening of the overall condition and complicated differentialdiagnostic and therapeutic process. In our report we would like to point out to the importance of para-neoplastic syndrome and the fact that it might cause severe complications of the health status earlier than the progress of the oncological disease itself. After tumour removal our patient is without any manifestation of recurrence of the thromboembolic event and she is undergoing continual rehabilitation.
