Hypertension is one of the most frequent cardiovascular diseases with high prevalence. Untreated hypertension increases
the risk of cardiovascular events, heart failure and chronic kidney disease significantly. Despite of wide scale of
effective antihypertensive drugs, the adequate control of blood pressure is not reached in many hypertensive patients.
Most of the patients require a combination of two or more antihypertensive agents in order to reach the goal blood
pressure values. Increasing number of drugs often lead to a decrease of patient’s willingness to persist on the treatment
from the long-term perspective. Patient adherence to the antihypertensive treatment can be improved by using
fixed dose combination therapy. Fixed dose combination therapy represents a modern therapeutical tool for improvement
the control of hypertension.
