The life is full of mystery and contradictions. Unambiguous opinions with clear identification of the causal cause are
rarely correct. We cannot manage medical science with simple calculations, geometry or double-entry accountancy.
This field of human activities used to bear an attribute medical art. Since the old times, one of the classical symptoms
of good heath was good appetite. Loss or change in the appetite almost always signalled a particular disorder, sometimes
functional, another time as very serious. Not all we have taste for has to to be beneficial for our health, and
something with (for somebody) unpleasant taste and smell, vice versa, might be beneficial for our health. Therefore,
we searched for experimental approach, with the aim to answer the question what is harmful and what is beneficial in
our food. In this paper, we try to point to the fact how the well-intentioned advice and recommendations might become
counter-productive if not based on proven facts. Finally, as in each activity, the main criterion for the truth is time.
