The aims of retrospective analysis of data obtained from children with uncomplicated respiratory tract infections were to evaluate efficacy, safety and compliance of azithromycin therapy. Data from 817 children (age 6 months - 18 years) were recorded. Favorite clinical efficacy was recorded in 796 children (97.4 %) – 737 pts were cured (90.2 %) and 59 pts. were improved (7.2 %). Typical pathogens as probable source of infection were detected in 233 children (28.5 %) and their eradication was recorded in 221 cases (94.8 %). Atypical pathogens were well documented in 64 children (7.3 %). In another 160 children atypical pathogens of RTI were marked (19.6 %). Good compliance was recorded in 913 pts (99.5 %). Adverse events were rare – only in 23 pts (2.8 %), 2 cases were associated with change of azithromycin therapy.
