The aim of the work is to present results of first analyses on mother’s milk quality from the aspect of possible contamination by mycotoxin ochratoxin A. His main toxic effects are nephrotoxicity, immunotoxicity, neurotoxicity, teratogenity and carcinogenity. Materials and methods: using the methods of HPLC 48 samples of mother’s milk from region of Martin and catchments area were analyzed. Results: in 16 samples ochratoxin A was confirmed, in 14 samples it was on the border of limit of quantification and in two samples confirmed values were 47.6 ng/l a 60.3 ng/l. Conclusion: Present findings of our study have confirmed that ochratoxin A can be found in mother’s milk even in our conditions and found values are within the range of values determined in Germany and Switzerland.
