There were evaluated changes of the left ventricle function in 33 asymptomatic patients treated by complex antitumor chemotherapy with anthracyclines for malignancy in childhood (group A) and in 13 patients after finished chemotherapy without antracyclines (group B). The control group (C) included 64 healthy subjects. All adolescents were examined using echocardiography. All values were compared between the subgroups. Significant differences in the diastolic left ventricle function were found in patients treated for malignancy in childhood in comparison to healthy population. Significant differences found in the group treated with other drugs (especially Vinca alcaloids) should be considered for folow-up monitoring.
