Recurrent respiratory infections present an important pediatric problem. Their management, which is performed through the collaboration among a pediatrician, immunologist and pneumologist, is focused on the detection of their causes and their adequate treatment. In case of particular immunodeficiency we apply immunosubstituting therapy. In case of accented inflammatory response we use anti-inflammatory drugs. Another possibility presents the use of various synthetic or natural agents stimulating or modulating one or many components of the immune system. In the first part of our paper we analyzed the use of bacterial immunomodulators. In the second part we reviewed other possibilities of pharmacological and nonpharmacological adjuvant therapy of recurrent respiratory infections in children.
