Autoinflammatory disorders present a new group of inherited immunodeficiencies, which substrate is genetically determined defect in the innate immunity. Clinical symptoms are due to uncontrolled inflammation. In contrast to the classic autoimmune diseases, in autoinflammatory disorders we are not able to detect neither autoantibodies nor autoreactive T-lymphocytes. Typical clinical presentation of this group is so-called periodic fever without proven infectious etiology. During the febrile episodes, we can observe the inflammation of serous and synovial membranes, skin, and sometimes also the damage of muscles, bones and vessels.
