Recently, an emerging explosion of knowledge has been observed in all the areas of medicine and immunology belongs to the most rapidly developing branches. Primary, the attention was dedicated to the traditional inborn defects of immunity with severe and recurrent infections complications and clear immunological phenotype. Besides these disturbances several new diseases have been revealed with infectious caused usually by one microorganism or species and with normal findings at the initial evaluation of the immune system. This is a group of so-called non-conventional primary immunodeficiencies, sometimes named also idiopathic infectious diseases, which involves especially the mechanisms of innate immunity. To this group belongs the Mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial diseases, defects of Toll-like receptors and also some other, rare diseases of innate immunity.
