Recurrent respiratory tract infections (RRTI) present very frequent problem in daily praxis of paediatrician and also immuno-allergologist and pneumologist. The most of these children does not show any big deviations in immune profile and only a few of them are associated with some form of primary immunodeficiency. Besides the treatment, it is necessary to have also active approach to the prevention of episodes of respiratory infections. There are many natural and also synthetic agents available in the clinical praxis for the prevention of RRTI. One of them represents bovine colostrum. Its biological activity is the consequence of high content of immunoglobulins and also of many other immunoactive substances with immunological activity. Bovine colostrum represents on of the possible prevention of RRTI, but it is necessary to perform more controlled clinical trials with these patients.
