Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in patients with chronic kidney diseases (CKD). Mutual relation between cardiovascular system and chronic kidney disease is cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) and nowadays it is an important challenge in nephrology and cardiology. Diagnosing of cardiovascular system damage in acute kidney disease, its prevention and management have a special importance for improvement of a long-term outcome of this high-risk patient population. In this paper we analyze acute CRS, in which acute disease of one system (renal/cardiovascular) immediately causes damage of the second system. We stress the risk factors of CRS, symptoms, markers of tubular functions disorder, etiopathogenesis (low cardiac output, venous and intraabdominal hypertension, neurohormonal mechanisms activation) and present possibilities of its management.
