Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is a urine return from bladder to the ureter, pelvis or as far as kidney. VUR incidence is about
1–2% of the general children population, in children with urinary tract infection (UTI) 15–70%, in part of children with
VUR arises reflux nephropathy with the renal scars and permanent disorder of the kidney function. Hereditary etiopathogenesis
in the substantial part of the primary VUR is without doubt, genetically is VUR heterogeneous disease.
Authors got intension on various genes which take part in VUR etiology and specially stresses on etiology of the reflux
nephropathy and VUR epigenetic factors. VUR diagnosis stands on imaging methods but use of the miction cystourethroscopy
is gradually restricted. Modern therapy is focused on conservative therapy and surgery indications are restricted,
VUR prognosis is always better.
