Alcohol consumption in adolescents is a frequent and severe problem of the society, while the most common pattern
of alcohol consumption at secondary schools is so-called binge drinking. This study aims to examine how alcohol
consumption is related to the attitude to school, academic results, truancy, involvement in physical fighting,
injuries, life satisfaction and overall health. Further, we focused on possible existing differences among the group
of respondents who did not drink alcohol at all and respondents who admitted binge-drinking and the frequency of
health problem incidence. There was presented the positive relation to truancy, involvement in fights, and frequent
injuries. The negative relation between alcohol consumption and attitude to school, academic results, life satisfaction
and overall health, were also presented. Significant differences among the groups of abstaining pupils and pupils
who admitted binge drinking were presented in several health troubles, especially a headache, problems with
sleeping, sad mood, irritability, nervousness and dizziness.
