The aim of the article was to provide a complex review of available methods of pulmonary function testing in children’s
age. Individual methods are described starting from basic screening test to comprehensive diagnostics accessible
in specialised centers only, that are indicated in a strictly defined group of patients. Specific conditions for
testing in children’s age taking into account hindered cooperation deserve particular attention. There are various
available interpretation strategies of measured results that enable more accurate diagnosis and subsequent therapy.
By working in National Institute of Children’s Tuberculosis and Respiratory diseases in Dolny Smokovec we perform
pulmonary function testing on every-day basis.
