Introduction: Vaccination is topical public health problem. Namely concerning increasing anti-vaccination activities.
Therefore, it is necessary to study attitudes of the population to vaccination.
Goal: To analyze attitudes to children vaccination with their parents in Martin, Slovakia.
Methods: The survey was conducted in Martin during the European immunization week in 2017 (24-30 April) and 2018
(23-29 April). Four pediatric outpatient were in 2017 and three in 2018. The group consisted of parents who were present
at the ambulatory waiting room during the European Immunization Week (2017 n = 116, 2018 n = 93).
Results: Respondents’ replies show that opinions didn’t changed significantly between 2017 and 2018. Parents still
have a positive relationship to vaccination. Reservations can be concerning, particularly in terms of voluntary vaccination.
Conclusion: Parents opinion on vaccinations in the city of Martin is mostly at a positive level. It is still important to
monitor their further development and at the same time to improve awareness of vaccination and to improve the relationship
between parents.
