Uveitis in childhood is one of the rare but potentially very serious diseases associated with vision problems. It is less
frequent diagnosis in children than in adults. It is connected with difficult examination and often late finding of diagnosis.
The most frequent cause of uveitis is the juvenile idiopathic arthritis. The key to the successful treatment is an
early start of appropriate treatment. Every suspicion to uveitis should lead to the ophthalmic examination. Regular
eye controls are also necessary in asymptomatic pediatric patients with rheumatic diseases. We describe a case report
of 5-year old girl with severe bilateral uveitis with vision problems. We want to emphasize importance of the early
and proper treatment of this diagnosis.
