Deep filtering endometriosis is a rare form of endometriosis characteristic with distinct symptomatology affecting the quality of life. It differs anatomically, histopathologically and clinically from other forms. Filtration of surrounding structures is the main characteristic of the disease. Clinical examination, imaging methods and histological verification is important for diagnostics. Surgical classification evaluating location and the stage of filtration is crucial. Dominant treatment is surgery. Multidisciplinary approach is important regarding the extent and severity of the operation. Centralization of the disease into centers with complex diagnostics and treatment might guarantee higher curability and lower recurrence of the disease.
