The author analyses the risks of inflammation complications with regard to the use of different types of contraception. He pays a special attention to the importance of the immunity system, its balance and the mechanisms by which the endogenous or synthetic sexual hormones influence this balance. He mentions the reasons of sexual dimorphisms in different inflammation illnesses, including the increased susceptibility of a female organism to asthma and different types of allergies. He devotes a separate chapter to progesterone and estrogene autoimmune dermatitis. Afterwards, he deals with different types of inflammation complications and vulvovaginal discomfort with regard to the sexual intercourse and different contraception methods.
