The consequence of the treatment of malignant diseases of female reproductive organs is often the loss of ovarian function and origination of climacteric difficulties. They are sometimes very intensive. Their most successful treatment is hormonal substitution. Most gynaecological tumours are not dependent on oestrogens. But some clinical studies point to the possibility to apply hormonal substitution treatment also in some types of hormonal dependent malignancies. There is just a small number of gynaecological malignant tumours as for example low differentiated endometrial stromal sarcomas in which the treatment with oestrogens is totally contraindicated. In other types of tumours the application of hormonal treatment for elimination of otherwise unmanageable climacteric symptoms is beneficial, but it requires very strict evaluation of an individual approach.
