Surrogate motherhood is a well-known historical phenomenon which in dependence on the development of infertility treatments has growing importance. Newly another party enters into the process of surrogacy ‒ Centre of Assisted Reproduction which is able, based on the modern knowledge in the field of assisted reproduction, to ensure full process of surrogacy. From medical point of view it is not a difficult medical procedure but from ethical, legal and social perspective it is a very complicated process, which causes many problems to biological parents, a surrogate mother, and last but not least to a baby. At the Clinic of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology Zlín, the surrogacy is ranked among the infertility treatment methods and it is allowed in indicated cases.
