Every healthcare worker has to exercise his profession to act in accordance with the applicable legal norms. The whole
issue of medical law is very extensive. For medical practice it can be divided into primary legislation applicable for all
medical specializations and the specific rules related to only a specified group of healthcare workers, in this case gynaecologists,
urologists and urogynaecologists. Legal norms are available in the Collection of Laws of the Slovak Republic.
The purpose of this work is not to encompass the whole issue of medical law, but to draw attention to the legal
norms to be followed in the process of lege artis in dealing with urinary incontinence and pelvic floor defects in women
and legal norms which are most often the subject of controversy and controls.
