The analysis of some perinatal outcomes in the Slovak Republic in the year 2015 is presented. The number of life births
increased to 55,623. The frequency of preterm deliveries decreased to 7.45 %. Total perinatal mortality was 5.6 per 1 000
of live births and stillbirths (0.56 %), but according to WHO criteria it was 7.0 (0.70 %). Early neonatal mortality rate was
2.0 per 1000 live births, and foetal mortality (stillbirths) was 3.6 per 1 000 of live births and stillbirths, according to WHO
criteria it was 5.0 (0.50 %). The specific perinatal mortality rate of low birth weight newborns was 45.8, very low birth
weight newborns 151, extremely low birth weight newborns 212 and incredible low birth weight 353 per 1 000 of total
births (it was 4.58 %, 15.1 %, 21.2 % and 35.3 % respectively).
