The incidence and economic consequences of a subsequent solution for adhesions, as postoperative complications after
traditional and endoscopic abdominal operations, are provable. It is known that the population curve in the European
countries, and also here, is significantly declining and the prognosis is not favourable also for the future. Modern and
efficient treatment of infertility is one of the significant factors in the effort to reverse this unfavourable development.
Slovakia is in this field of medicine reaches the European standards. The centres for assisted reproduction have results
comparable with other European countries. This treatment is known as quite costly. The origination of adhesions after
gynaecological operations is an important risk factor of female infertility, especially its tubal and peritoneal factor. The
prevention of postoperative adhesions helps influence the health condition of operated women and in the reproductive
age also their fertility. A basic anti-adhesive strategy follows the rules for physiological operations and also use of
antiadhesive agents. The most common antiadhesive agents are pharmacological preparations, physical barriers, jelly
barriers and liquid preparations with a wide covering.
