WHO definition of sexual health is a status of psychological, mental and social well-being in connection with sexuality
and sexual life. The sexual life and sexual health problems are more and more discussed nowadays. The studies
confirmed, that women suffer for these problems more than men. The women in fertile age have to fulfil many
roles – to be a good mother, wife, worker, friend, to survive pregnancy, labour, breastfeeding, in some cases to get
through the cycles of in vitro fertilisation and this all has a huge influence on their health and sexual life. Women
are starting to be more aware about these problems and have no shame to ask about the sexual health problems,
diagnosis and treatment. Who is the right specialist? Who will give me the right advice? Even that various women
journals and magazines and social media provide a lot of advice, the gynaecological out-patient department should
be the most appropriate place to find help. The proper gynaecologist should be the most competent and qualified
to talk about this with women, to have the information from internet confronted with relevant medical explanation
and advice for the women in each age. Following article offers an overview from sexual physiology of women
to female sexual dysfunction and aberrations.
