In the topographic study we demonstrate the summary of anatomical knowledge about intradural and extradural part of spinal canal in the lumbosacral region with targeting on the nerve roots of cauda equina. We performed an anatomical dissection of the lumbosacral region of two cadavers which was focused on identification of ventral and dorsal roots of cauda equina. Dissection consisted of anatomical structures preparation and was followed by photographic documentation. Then we performed computerized tomography (CT) of dissected lumbosacral region and created a computer fusion of acquired photographic and CT scans. The anatomical dissection demonstrated that ventral and dorsal nerve roots of cauda equina can be separated in their continuance and differentiated on conus medullaris.
