The possibilities of using ultrasound in neurology and medicine generally have been developing dynamically. The non-invasive method is used more and more frequently for diagnostics and therapy. The domain of ultrasound is still diagnostics, especially in the area of evaluation of structure of parenchymatous organs and examination of pathology of blood flow. Also the new therapeutical use of ultrasound is expanding, e.g. during acceleration of thrombolysis – sono-thrombolysis, destruction of tumors nodus, controlled release of medicament in designated predefined area. Here, the biological effects of ultrasound are used, especially such as heat generation, tissue irritation, cavitation and enzymes activation.
