NEUROSYPHILIS, CASE REPORT
The case report is describing the case of a man initially hospitalised with vertebrogenic problems. Anamnesis contains the data on small, probably, traumatic intracerebral bleeding. Due to behavioural disorders and quick development of organic psychosyndrom we performed extensive laboratory and radiologic diagnostics and we proved the diagnosis of neurosyphilis. With the regard to low incidence of syphilis in our population the possibility of neurosyphilis is not often involved in differential diagnostics of a patient with qualitative disorder of consciousness or aseptic meningitis. High mortality in not recognized or non treated disease and increasing incidence of syphilis is the reason for classification of neurosyphilis in differential diagnostic judgement in patients with deterioration of cognitive functions.
