Early recanalisation of blocked cerebral arteries related to higher chance to reach self-sufficiency after 3 months and decreasing of mortality in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Besides pharmacological methods (intravenous, intra-arterial or combined thrombolysis) also endovascular mechanic methods have been tested recently, the aim of whose was to speed up recanalisation of the cerebral artery. At present mechanic methods of recanalisation are clinically tested in patients with acute closure of the cerebral artery mainly in failure or contraindication of intravenous thrombolysis. In the text single instrumentaria are described, which are used for mechanic recanalisation of cerebral arteries and also practical procedures in care of a patient indicated for this performance.
