Surgical treatment of degenerative spine disorders is widely discussed by orthopedics, neurosurgeons and spine surgeons. The exact and final pathophysiology of the intervertebral disc has not been conclusively defined. It is currently assumed that the disc degenerative disorder has strong genetic background and that it is mechanically evoked and biologically influenced. The actual diagnosis has brought a significant development regarding the spine degenerative disorder precisely due to magnetic resonance and introducing of the “degenerative disc disease” terminology. The very fundamental task for the surgeon and his attitude to surgery itself is based upon the correlation of graphical examinations, clinical state, complex conservative treatment and precise differential diagnosis.
