Neurenteric cysts of central nervous system are benign cystic lesions. They tend to occur anywhere along the neural
axis, with the most frequent location at a lower part of cervical spine region and the upper part of thoracic spine
region. In the location of craniocervical junction they occur rarely. There is only 40 cases of neurenteric cysts of
craniocervical junction reported worldwide. First line therapy is radical resection. Authors report the case of young
patient with neurenteric cyst of craniocervical junction located ventrally to the brain stem. To the best of our knowledge
this is the first case of neurenteric cyst of central nervo us system in slovak literature.
