Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common urological malignance with increasing incidence and high specific mortality. Prognostic factors and models have important role not only in prognosis of disease but also in diagnosis, consecutive treatment strategy and monitoring of patients because of increasing incidence of RCC. There is the short review of various prognostic factors and models in this article – factors associated with tumour (anatomical and histological factors), with patient and therapy (clinical and laboratory factors) and at present very intensive investigated bio molecular markers. Combination of these factors and markers in several systems and models can improve their predictive accuracy and there through their clinical application what requires further clinical trials.
