The objective of the research work: Comparison of the mental state of anxiety in incontinent patients before and after rehabilitation therapy, as well as the comparison of some personal factors of these patients with healthy population. Also the life quality of the incontinent patients was assessed and the impact of the incontinence on various aspects of life. Methods: The Method used for evaluation was PSSI Inventory of Personality Styles. For the assessment of anxiety status the Beck’s anxiety questionnaire was used. The life quality was evaluated by the Contlife Method and IIQ - 7. For the quantification of leaked urine one hour pad test was used. The file of patients consisted of 66 patients after vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, out of which there were 46 patients with incontinence and 20 without incontinence. A control group was formed of 25 healthy women. All patients performed individual exercises for strengthening and relaxing of pelvic floor muscles by means of repeated, selective, voluntary contraction and relaxation of pelvic floor muscles. The exercises were performed two times a day, each time for 15 minutes. Results: Incontinent women show statistically significantly higher degree of reserveness and are less self-sure than women without incontinence. Far more greater statistically significant differences have been found in several personality factors when comparing the group of incontinent patients with healthy women. Still further statistically significant differences have been found in higher degree of compulsiveness, higher tendency of criticality, negativism, dependency, higher impulsiveness, higher degree of depressiveness, and also higher tendency to self-sacrifice. After the complex rehabilitation treatment a significant reduction of leaked urine in grams and improvement of the monitored factors of life quality has been observed. Conclusion: In the given context an expressive need for monitoring psychological factors has been shown because just these aspects can enhance the motivation of patients during the conservative therapy of urine incontinence.
