Every European country has specification for cardiorehabilitation. For the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic the specific feature is exploitation of natural medical sources. In Germany some cardio-rehaclinics are situated to spa too (e.g. Bad Oeynhausen). The European Society of Cardiology hasn’t special recommendation for the use of spa treatment in cardiorehabilitation. The Czech Society of Cardiology has incorporated the use of spa treatment of cardiacs to their recommended progress. The author of the article performed a complex evaluation of evolution of spa rehabilitation care for patients with heart disease in single historical periods in Czech lands (from the rise of the Czechoslovak Republic). He described single spa locations and their history in details. He performed characteristics of a single phase in balneology, in relation to rehabilitation of cardiacs as far as to the present time. The author mentioned current European trends of early rehabilitation of cardiacs, with the initiation of rehabilitation within 14 days from the accident or intervention and the influence on conversion of our classical spa cardio-rehabilitation into a new type of following care that uses modern cardio-rehabilitation methods and positive environment of spa locations. He presented the history of Special medical institution for cardio-rehabilitation in Teplice nad Bečvou, 1st in the Czech Republic.
