In common clinical practice, physicians have encountered stable angina for a long time. Therefore, there is an attempt for an “evidence-based” approach to its diagnosis and management. The latest joint recommendations of the European Society of Cardiology and European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery were published in 2018 and presented at the congress of the European Society of Cardiology in Munich. The indications for revascularization remained more or less without change, even though the ORBITA study is mentioned with its surprising results as well as its limitations. When deciding between PCI and CABG, the “heart team” should take into account the complexity of the lesions but, in particular, emphasize the achievement of complete revascularization.
