Most of benign biliary stenoses originates from cholecystectomy. Biliary tract lesion during cholecystectomy is caused by complete transsection of bile duct, ligation of bile duct, respective by clipping. The most serious problem of benign biliary strictures originated from cholecystectomy is the fact, that almost 4/5 of them are recognised in the postoperative period and thereby necessitating further therapy. The aim of all therapeutical interventions used in the treatment of benign biliary stenoses originated from cholecystectomy is to secure free bile flow to the intestine. Mostly the choice of proper therapy depends on cholangiography, which brings the needed information about localization and type of stenosis.
