Imaging of tumors of the small intestine belongs to a special part of nuclear oncology. Special properties of tumors are used in diagnostics of them, e.g. somatostatine receptors density or presence of chromatophile cells as in clearly differentiated neuroendocrine tumors, e.g. gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) as well as routine radiopharmaceuticals using the property of higher proliferation or higher glucose metabolism as in less differentiated neuroendocrine tumors, lymphomas or gistomas. In the first group special radiopharmaceuticals are used as 111 In - octreotid and 123 J - MIBG (metajodobenzylguanidin) and in the second group 67 Ga - citrate and 18 FDG - fluorodeoxyglucose. Authors present the use of examinations in diagnostic process considering the prognosis of patients.
