The identification and classification of risk factors and patients burdened by higher risk of colorectal carcinoma genesis (CCG) is inevitable for primary and secondary prevention of this malignant disease. Assessment of macroscopic appearance of colorectal lesion using Paris and Kudo classification allows an endoscopist to predict quite precisely the histological nature of lesions. Assessment of the histological type, grading and staging of colorectal carcinoma is the basic condition for the choice of an adequate treatment. The determination of molecular biology of tumour namely the presence of mutation KRAS, BRAF and microsatellite instability (MSI) belongs to other characteristics of CCG.
