Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERCP) is one of the important therapeutic methods in the treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases. At present it seems that the progress of technology related to ERCP more or less has reached its plateau. Despite that, some of the topics related to ERCP are still popular as proven by several posters presented at the last year annual meeting of the American Society of Gastroenterology – (Digestive Disease Week 2013). One of the most discussed themes nowadays is a prevention of ERCP-related pancreatitis which is considered to be the most serious complication of ERCP. The attention is given also to the diagnostics and the endoscopic treatment of biliary strictures, and radiofrequency ablation of malignant tumours of the biliary ducts and pancreas. We would like to inform our readers about this topic in the submitted _article.
