The inflammatory damage of the uveal tract (the iris, the ciliary body and the choroid) belongs to rarely but due to the risk of sight damage still to a very serious extraintestinal indication of non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases. Ulcerative colitis is often associated with iridocyclitis (iritis), which usually runs independently of inflammatory bowel activity. The development and activity of episcleritis, mostly diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, is related to main illness. In the case of two female patients we have focused on the development of uveitis and its reaction to the therapy by infliximab as a possible alternative in case of uveitises resisted to application of corticoids and immunosuppressant drugs in our practice.
