Sexual dysfunction is a serious problem in a relatively large number of women. Their
incidence increases significantly with age and has a significant negative impact on the
quality of sexual life. Gynaecology and Urogynaecology, therefore, more often faced
to the rising incidence of sexual dysfunctions in women and especially in the group
with pelvic floor prolapse. Therefore, it is necessary to select the correct operating
technique, not only regarding anatomical reconstruction of the defect, but there is
a need to evaluate the impact of this method on the sexual life. Evaluation of sexual
dysfunction is realised by standardised questionnaire system. The aim of our study
was to assess sexual dysfunction in women before and after surgery (abdominal simplex
hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy and synthetic material - MESH).
